Age: 60+ years young
Hometown: Resident in Cumbria, west of Carlisle on the Solway
coast for the past 5 years, in (almost) splendid isolation, with
a public house only ½ a mile away. Originally a Lincolnshire
'yellow belly', then a Yorkshire resident for 20 odd years prior
to retirement.
Occupation: retired from the Oil & Gas Industry, following
25+ years in the Middle East.
Married: Married to (long-suffering) Janice for over 40
years, with 3 grown up kids and 6 fast growing grand kids, only
one girl among 'em.
Member of the Barbel Society since 1995, although have loved our
'enigmatic prince of the river' since the first capture from Yorkshire's
River Swale in 1965!
Keep busy, during the closed season, with gardening and DIY where
required, but tend to get around our fisheries and other various
river venues at least once per week during the season.
Quite fond of cricket, especially Test Match style, not so fond
of 20:20 and other one day stuff
. Not quite cricket!! Enjoy
most sports as a spectator and tend these days to restrict my exertions
to 5's & 3's or pool!! Do really enjoy seeing the Red Devils
(Man.Utd.) at the top of the Premiership, and their game.
