Age: 40

Hometown: Chelmsford, Essex

Occupation: Senior Buyer/ Surveyor

Married: Married to Vanessa with 2 boys Anthony (9yrs) and George (2yrs)

Most memorable day: June 16th every year!!

Achievements in regards to barbel fishing: Not really an achievement but getting 2 barbel over 11lb in one weekend on the Kennet was nice. Other than that 21 barbel in one roving session on the Lea was also good fun.

Favourite Method: Don't do enough of it now but rolling bait whilst wading is wonderful especially if using a centrepin.

Favourite Venue/ river: This has to be the Kennet albeit I am fishing the Severn a lot now

Achievements that may be relevant: I have been a member of the BS since day 1 having been in the A.B.E. prior to that. In 1996 I began helping the Essex R.O. (Alan Oliver) organise events and eventually took over the region in 1998 often attracting 100+ attendees. Throughout this period I regularly helped on the stand at the N.E.C. and moved on to the Committee in 2001 taking over the Merchandise, and Shows & Exhibitions sections from Phil Betteley.

What's The future for you and barbel fishing?: My aim on the Committee is to improve the finances for the society wherever possible and to keep waving the Barbel Society flag at the shows. We still have a lot to offer as a society but there is always room for improvement. My personal aim is to nail that 14lber from the Lower Severn that has been eluding me!

Anything else that paints a picture: Like everyone else on the Committee I didn't do this for recognition or thanks….I got involved because I am 'bothered' about the society. Anyone can get involved so if you want to volunteer don't be afraid to let us know.
